275 yards bulky weight yarn

Needles:

Size 9

Abbreviations: 

st - stitch,  k - knit,  yo - yarn over,  k2tog - knit 2 sts together,  p - purl

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cast on 34 sts and k 3 rows.  Work feather & fan pattern as follows:

Row 1:  K5, k2tog twice, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2tog 4 times, (k1, yo) 4 times, k2tog twice, k5.

Row 2:  Knit.

Row 3:  Knit.

Row 4:  K5, p24, k5.

Repeat these 4 rows for 59" (or desired length) ending with a Row 1.  Bind off.  Weave in ends.
